Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files, has drawn criticism ever since it was released last year. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of last year despite receiving harsh criticism from a significant portion of the public and other actors. Anupam Kher and Pallavi Joshi, among other lead actors, were allegedly nominated for the Oscars this year, according to an earlier assertion made by Vivek.

But looks like that wasn't the case, though. The movie was included on the list of Oscars reminders, which comprises movies that can formally participate in a variety of categories, along with others including RRR, Kantara, and Gangubai Kathiawadi.

TV presenter Nikhil Chinapa, , questioned this untrue statement on Twitter while he also quizzed the director. Nikhil wrote, "What is an official 'contender'?" in response to this question. Others appeared to agree with Nikhil. While a user wrote, Just hallucination by @vivekagnihotri"

For the unversed, The Last Film Show, also known as Pan Nalin's Chhello Show, is actually India's official Oscar entry. If it gets shortlisted for the Best International Feature category, it will compete in that category. While on January 24, the nominations for the Academy Awards are anticipated to be revealed.
