B town actress Deepika Padukone has expressed her disappointment with India's repeated failures to secure Oscars. She believes the country has been unjustly denied multiple well-deserved wins. On Sunday, while preparing for a Louis Vuitton fashion show in Paris, she shared a video on Instagram where she discussed the Oscars and reminisced about India's historic win for "Naatu Naatu" from "RRR" at the ceremony.

In the video, Deepika revealed that one of the victories at this year's Oscars that particularly delighted her was Adrien Brody's win for Best Actor. He received the award for his performance in "The Brutalist."

India has been robbed of the Oscars many times. Many, many deserving movies I feel like has got snubbed. Whether its movies, whether its talent… But I remember being in the audience and when they announced RRR, I got emotional. Outside of being an Indian I had really nothing to do with that movie but that was a huge, huge moment. That felt very, very personal

Deepika Padukone's recent expression of disappointment over India's repeated failures to secure Oscars has resonated with many netizens. One of the fans wrote, 'Amazing thoughts,' while another wrote, 'I agree with what Deepika said.'

RRR won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 2023 for Naatu Naatu. Deepika's video showcased a selection of critically acclaimed Indian films, including Payal Kapadia's "All We Imagine As Light," Kiran Rao's "Laapataa Ladies," Rahi Anil Barve's "Tumbbad," and Ritesh Batra's "The Lunchbox." Despite receiving widespread acclaim, none of these films were nominated for an Oscar.

At the 97th Academy Awards, "Anora" emerged as the night's biggest winner, securing five Oscars. The film won Best Picture, while Mikey Madison was awarded Best Actress. Sean Baker dominated the awards, earning Best Director, Best Editing, and Best Original Screenplay.

Deepika Padukone, a global star, is the first Indian to be appointed as a global ambassador for luxury fashion houses Louis Vuitton and Cartier. She was in Paris to attend the Louis Vuitton show at the Cour Carrée du Louvre, the main courtyard of the Louvre Palace.
