'My character here is not similar to Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai'-Faizan Kidwai

Faizan Kidwai started his television career with a Tele film and then went on to be a Balaji regular, in K-serials, Kkusum, Kamal, Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai. The talented actor is now be seen in Ratna Sinha's 'Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Naa' on Sony.

After working closely with directors as Mr. Muzaffar Ali and Mr. Ravi Rai, now Faizan Kidwai plays the role of Saksham, the middle son of the rich Ranavat family. Elaborating on his role, Faizan says, “The character I am playing is of an ambitious, arrogant perfectionist. He can’t tolerate lousiness and is always hyper. He hates the middle-class people and he comes across as the 'Angry Young Man' of the family.” So do we see him more as a negative character? He agrees partly and explains, “Yes it is has a bit of grey shades. He is supposed to be aggressive and hates middle class people, hence the reason for his hatred towards Aastha, the lead female protagonist. Later on , he gets convined and accepts Astha after his brother gets married to her", he adds on.

On asking if this role is similar to his earlier role in Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai, he refutes. “It may look to be similar, but here, my character is more aggressive while that role was more subtle.” He himself feels the character he is playing is an important part of the story. “It’s an important character. Most are playing the good roles and here I am doing a role that’s grey. That definitely makes the role quite interesting and important,” says Faizan.
