Actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his roles in movies like Welcome, recently faced a terrifying ordeal. On November 20, Khan was allegedly lured under the guise of attending an award show in Meerut. His business partner, Shivam Yadav, revealed the shocking details of the incident, which began when Khan arrived in Delhi and was picked up by the kidnappers near the Delhi-Meerut highway.
Khan had been given flight tickets and an advance payment, making the event seem genuine. However, upon landing, he was driven to a secluded spot near Bijnor. There, he was held hostage for nearly 12 hours, tortured, and pressured to pay a ransom of one crore rupees. Despite the kidnappers’ threats, they could only access Rs 2 lakh from the actor’s and his son’s bank accounts.
The actor managed to escape during the early hours after hearing the azaan from a nearby mosque. Realizing the opportunity, he ran towards the mosque, sought help from locals, and eventually contacted the police. Mushtaq Khan returned home safely with police assistance, but the traumatic experience left his family deeply shaken.
Shivam Yadav shared that an official FIR has been filed in Bijnor. He mentioned having evidence, including flight tickets, bank transaction records, and CCTV footage. Khan also remembers details about the house where he was held captive. The police are actively investigating, and the culprits are expected to be caught soon.
This incident has raised concerns about a potential syndicate targeting celebrities with fake event invitations. Shivam also noted similarities with comedian Sunil Pal’s recent kidnapping. While Mushtaq Khan is recovering, he plans to address the media soon to shed more light on the harrowing experience.
