Being confined at home is not something that happens every day. Like us, it is difficult for actors as well who are busy round the clock to stay indoors. One such actor is Mukul Dev who has acted in movies, TV shows as well as web-series.
We had a candid conversation with Mukul Dev who was last seen in ZEE5’s State of Siege: 26/11. The actor is in Delhi with his sister and mother on his much-deserved break amid the ongoing lockdown. Mukul talked about how he is utilizing this break to take care of himself as well as his family, spending time with them, reading books, what he looks for before taking up a role and a lot more.
Speaking about how the actor is spending this ample time he has now, Mukul said, “Presently I am spending time with my mother and sister. I am looking after them and being looked after as a son. I have been taking proper precautions, trying to stay hygienic. Also, I devour my free time to reading. I am fond of reading books.” We went on to ask the actor if he would like to recommend any book for others and he said, “ Though my taste in authors is pretty conventional, I read ‘A Thousand Splendid Suns’ by Khalid Hosseni, which I really liked and would recommend that to all young girls out there.”
We asked him if he misses being on shoots to which he said, “I would not say I miss being on shoots. The circumstances have made it necessary to stay at home and I am enjoying this period. I am very happy that the government is taking the coronavirus outbreak seriously and doing what is required. If you look at what the other countries are going through staying indoors is the best thing you can do.”
Mukul also spoke about his character in State of Siege: 26/11, he said, “ I was offered the role by Abhimanyu Singh and he wants to go forward with a real portrayal of whatever happened. I was very happy with the kind of research that was done by director Matthew and Abhimanyu. I was convinced that the final product will be good. The digital platform has given us more choices as an actor. When you are working for a web-series on an OTT platform, you have a chance to dwell yourself in the character. For all those actors who like to portray real characters, and give their best, OTT is a blessing.”
Signing off Mukul said, “Please Stay indoors and don’t even think about going out anywhere. Try to maintain hygiene. Health is important. The money will come and go”.
Stay safe and stay indoors!
