It's lights, camera and action for "Manmarziyan". Actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, who were paired opposite each other in "Dum Laga Ke Haisha", have started shooting for their upcoming project here.

"Beardo and the weirdo! That's the character of Bhumi in this film. Ahem. Roll the cam. Mall Road, Shimla," Ayushmann posted on Twitter on Friday.

Bhumi also shared her excitement over the project via a tweet which read: "Yay to new starts... with my director sahab #Manmarziyan #sameersharma".

The film will be directed by Sameer Sharma, who earlier helmed "Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana". It will be produced by "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" director Aanand L Rai.

Leaving behind a hint to the storyline, Rai posted: "To love and win is the best thing. To love and lose, the next best.#manmarziyan shoot begins today. @ayushmannk @psbhumi @Shaileshrsingh".

Ayushmann had earlier shared that he will be seen playing a Punjabi in "Manmarziyan", and has also grown a beard for it.

Bhumi, who made her way into Bollywood in a pudgy avatar in "Dum Laga Ke Haisha", has shed the extra ounces for the role and will be seen with a svelte figure. She is also learning Punjabi for the film.
