Kriti Sanon called Priyanka Chopra ‘Tai Sa’, here’s why

Bareilly Ki Barfi turned out to be a breakthrough for Kriti Sanon, post which the actress featured in films like Stree, Luka Chuppi, Arjun Patiala and recently Housefull 4. While she has been basking in the success of her super hit films, her next big project, Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat is a period drama film. The film stars Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao Bhau, Sanjay Dutt as Ahmad Shah Abdali and Kriti Sanon as Parvati Bai.

Ever since the trailer of the highly anticipated historical period film, Panipat released, many on the Internet took no time to draw comparisons with Ranveer Singh’s Bajirao Mastaani. Right from the costumes to the physical appearances of the characters, the Ashutosh Gowarikar film saw many similarities with that of SLB’s historical romance drama.

Interestingly, netizens did not step behind from comparing the characters from both the film as well and found a connection between Priyanka Chopra’s Kashi Bai and Kriti Sanon’s Parvati Bai.

During the recent media interactions, Kriti opened up about this comparison and recalled her recent encounter with PeeCee. A few days back, the two actresses met at a party in Mumbai and clicked a selfie which went viral on social media. 

Talking of their meet, Kriti revealed that she along with Priyanka tried to decode the exact relation between Kashi Bai and Parvati Bai.

We were trying to decode our relationship. She (Priyanka) played Bajirao's wife, Kashi Bai, and I am Bajirao’s nephew Sadashiv Rao's wife, Parvati Bai. So you're like my Tai Sa.

Kriti even mentioned that her recent video of dancing to her song Coca Cola in her vanity van reminded Priyanka of her shooting days of Bajirao Mastani. The Housefull 4 actress revealed that PeeCee could relate to her as even she had fun while shooting for the film. 

Based on the Third Battle of Panipat, the film is slated to release on 6 December 2019.
