Kareena Kapoor Teams Up with Prithviraj and Meghna Gulzar for ‘Daayra’

Kareena Kapoor Khan has surprised her fans with the big announcement of her next film, Daayra. On April 14, she took to Instagram and shared pictures with director Meghna Gulzar and South star Prithviraj Sukumaran. The caption reflected her excitement: “I’ve always said that I’m a director’s actor… and this time I cannot wait to work with one of the finest directors we have, @meghnagulzar, & alongside the magnificent @therealprithvi, whose work I deeply admire. To my dream team, #Daayra?? let’s do this ????🌈.”

In one of the photos, Kareena and Prithviraj are seen looking at each other intensely, giving a hint of the chemistry they’ll bring onscreen. Another picture shows all three smiling together, confirming their powerful collaboration. Fans flooded the comment section. One wrote, “Both my favourites.” Another fan said, “Can’t wait to witness this!!!!” A comment even called them the “GOAT combination.” Clearly, the buzz is real.

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Daayra is being made under Junglee Pictures, with whom Meghna has worked earlier in hits like Raazi and Talvar. The film is expected to dig into today’s disturbing societal issues, questioning justice, crime, and the system itself. Meghna’s last film was Sam Bahadur in 2023, and Daayra will be her next directorial venture.

Kareena said, “As I celebrate 25 incredible years in Hindi cinema, I'm thrilled to announce my next film, Daayra, with the incredible Meghna Gulzar. To be directed by her is a dream. The chance to work with Prithviraj and be part of such a bold narrative is very exciting.”

Prithviraj also expressed his thoughts. He shared, “When the script was narrated to me, I knew I had to do this. It’s a layered character and will definitely connect with the masses. Working with Meghna and Kareena is going to be special.”

Meghna concluded, “Daayra is a story that compels you to reflect on society and its systems. With Kareena and Prithviraj, the narrative will reach new heights.”

The film is currently in pre-production, and fans already can’t keep calm!
