Karan Johar to direct an action film for the first time; will commence filming from April 2023

The ace filmmaker Karan Johar is celebrating his 50th birthday today. Wishes and greetings from fans and his fraternity friends have been pouring out for the filmmaker from every corner of the world. Presently the actor was busy filming his upcoming project Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, taking an opportunity on this special day, KJo has announced the release date of the much-awaited film.

Karan took to his Instagram account and shared a post having a lengthy note about Karan's life as a filmmaker and his connection with films. He wrote, "This is a note of reflection and one of immense excitement! I turn 50 today( a number that seemed like a distant nightmare), while I know its kind of a mid-point of my life but I cant help my wannabe millennial self from existing."

He further added, "Some call it a mid-life crisis, I proudly call it just living life without any apologies'. I have worked in the movie industry for over 27 years and I am blessed to have had the best experience ever!!

Telling stories, creating content, nurturing talent and watching the finest artists perform in front of my privileged eyes... these years are like being in a massive dream that made all the sleeplessness seem worthwhile! I am grateful for the brick backs, the bouquets, the praising souls, the public trolls. ALL OF IT!!! Its all been a huge part of my learning curve and self growth.."

He continued, "The one aspect that I believe I am most passionate about is being a filmmaker! In the past I have always taken long gaps between my films but today on this special day I would like to announce my next directorial feature...Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will release on 10th February 2023.

And I will commence the shoot of my ACTION FILM in April 2023. Need your blessings and love! And I Have to shamelessly sign off by saying Jug Jugg Jeeyo to all of you, My klove, forever,  Karan Johar"

It would be quite exciting to witness Karan Johar venture into an all new genre for the first time in his entire career span. For the unversed Karan Johar have specifically stuck to romance or drama as genres when it came to his style of filmmaking. 

Meanwhile, KJo has already completed filming the first segment of the film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. He will done with the comple shooting by the end of September/October this year. The film features Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachc
