Karan Johar, the acclaimed filmmaker, has been riding high on the success of his recent directorial venture, "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani." The film not only garnered praise from critics but also delivered impressive results at the box office. Now, Karan Johar is springing a surprise with an unexpected action thriller titled "Kill," produced under the banner of Dharma Productions and featuring Raghav Juyal and Lakshya in the lead roles.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Karan Johar addressed the notion that launching Lakshya in "Kill" serves as a direct response to those who label him part of the 'nepo mafia.' Karan candidly affirmed that it indeed is a reminder, one that is quite "in your face."

Kjo added, "You criticize us for everything. You curse us. You speak about the fact that we support and encourage nepotism, nepo babies, all the flak that comes to us." He continued, "I wanna say if you give us the flak, then today give us the credit. Lakshya is a rank outsider. This is a very expensive film mounted entirely on him. We have produced it, we have funded it, Dharma Productions has funded. The money, the risk is all ours."

The director also highlighted Lakshya's journey to securing the role, noting that he underwent a rigorous audition process and put in substantial effort to earn his place in "Kill."

"Kill," helmed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, boasts a cast that includes Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, and Tanya Maniktala. The film recently made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Mass section, receiving positive feedback and reviews. As Karan Johar continues to diversify his cinematic offerings, The film stands as a testament to his commitment to talent, irrespective of their background, and a response to critics who question his choices in the industry.
