Love it, hate it or call it names - but one cannot deny that The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives (TFLOBW) turned out to be quite a success indeed where it is now even termed as the guilty pleasure of many out there plus of course, a massive source for meme content and conversation too.
A season 2 has already been confirmed and will be out soon but one might wonder, how did the idea of the show come to the creator Karan Johar.
In the most unanticipated of instances, apparently the idea of the show came to Johar while going to a 'chautha' (prayer meet). That's right. During a recent TFLOBW reunion on Clubhouse, Johar revealed that the idea came to him while discussing the outfits before going to a prayer meet. He said, “I want to tell you, the origin of this show happened on a flight. We took a flight to Delhi, we were actually going for a condolence meeting. One of our friends lost their father. We were on a flight to Delhi and that’s when I realised, and I have always known it, that these four women are completely crazy."
He added, “They made something even like a chautha sound like such a massive problem in what they were wearing to what was happening. And it was like they were talking nonsense. And then when we reached, we had to play-act that we were really sad, and on our flight back, we were talking rubbish."
Well, whatever the origin maybe, the ardent fans of the Netflix show cannot indeed get enough of it. The show showcases the 'fabulous lives' of Bollywood wives - Maheep Kapoor, Neelam Kothari Soni, Bhavna Pandey and Seema Khan.
