Karan Johar is inspired by 'Trial By Fire'; pens an appreciation note for Abhay Deol & Rajshri Deshpande

Trial By Fire, starring Abhay Deol and Rajshri Despande has become the talk of the town. For the unversed, it is a biting and realistic series inspired by a book about the Uphaar Cinema tragedy. Not only this the OTT release is now trending at No. 1 in India.

Talking of which film-maker Karan Johar now took to his social media account and penned down a lengthy note praising the makers of Trial By Fire. 

Sharing a still from the gripping tale Karan wrote, "Trialbyfire on @netlix Broke :my heart and gave me a gold standard narrative of resilience... this series is a masterclass in narrative, execution and portrayals! Rajashree Deshpande and Abhar Deol are the rock solid emotional pillars of this stunningly brilliant mini series! They are extraordinary! As stated earlier, it is an adpation from the book titled “Trial By Fire – is a tragic tale of the Uphaar Tragedy” by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, who lost their two young children in the 1997 catastrophe.

On the workfront, Karan Johar is set to return to direction with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The movie will release in April this year.
