Karan Johar confirms 'Takht' is not shelved and he will begin work post 'Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani'

Filmmaker Karan Johar is absolutely everywhere. The director and TV personality likes to juggle multiple hats where on one hand, he is all set to try his hand at stand-up comedy with One Mic Stand Season 2, he continues to appear on TV shows and is also set to be directing his next film after all this time. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, as we know is a family dramedy starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the forefront apart from legends like Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan also playing important roles in it.

And while he couldn't be busier, one would remember getting excited about Johar's massive announcement of a mega film in the form of Takht. The historical drama was announced with a poster and an alluring ensemble cast that included Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. Unfortunately, just when the prep and shoot for the film was about to begin, the pandemic hit and it was then followed by rumors that it has been shelved.

But in a recent interview with Film Companion, Johar has confirmed that Takht is not shelved and he will definitely begin working on it soon. He mentioned that as soon as he completes Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, he will begin working on Takht. He also added how Rocky Aur Rani... is his excitement project while Takht is his passion project. 

With the aforementioned alluring ensemble cast, Takht will be based on the Mughal era.
