Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency' Secures Censor Nod—Is the Release Date Just Around the Corner?

Kangana Ranaut's much-anticipated film 'Emergency' has officially cleared the final hurdle, securing certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). With this critical milestone achieved, the stage is set for the release date to be unveiled soon. The production team confirmed the news in an official statement, igniting a wave of excitement.

Kangana Ranaut took to her Twitter (X) page to share the news, adding to the growing buzz surrounding "Emergency". She captioned it "We are glad to announce we have received the censor certificate for our movie Emergency, we will be announcing the release date soon. Thank you for your patience and support".

In a significant development, the production company behind Emergency informed the Bombay High Court that they have complied with all modifications advised by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to media reports, the film is now set for release following the Punjab elections in November. The CBFC confirmed to the court that Kangana Ranaut, who also co-produces the film, has agreed to implement the suggested cuts, clearing the path for the film's much-awaited debut. With these revisions in place, the countdown to Emergency begins, stirring anticipation among audiences.

Initially slated for a September 6, 2024 release, Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency faced a delay. The film will be showcasing India’s turbulent Emergency period from June 1975 to March 1977. In addition to portraying former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Kangana Ranaut is supported by an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, and the late Satish Kaushik in prominent roles.
