Kangana Ranaut Begins Shooting for New Film with R Madhavan Post-Emergency Release

Kangana Ranaut has teamed up once again with her Tanu Weds Manu co-star R Madhavan for a new film. The announcement came shortly after the release of her much-anticipated film Emergency, where she portrayed the iconic role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, which was released on January 17, saw Kangana not just as the lead actor but also as its director, writer, and producer.

Taking to Instagram, Kangana shared the excitement of her new project with her followers. She posted a picture of the clapperboard from the movie's first day of the shoot on her Instagram Stories. Her caption read, “Nothing is more delightful than being on a film set,” showcasing her love for filmmaking.

The untitled movie is being directed by Vijay and produced by R Ravindran under Trident Arts. Earlier in 2023, Kangana had hinted at this project on X (formerly Twitter), describing it as a psychological thriller with an "unusual and exciting script." She sought blessings from her fans for the intriguing venture during the initial stages of filming in Chennai.

Kangana and Madhavan’s on-screen chemistry has already won hearts in the past. Their 2011 romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu was a massive hit, earning praise for its relatable story and memorable performances. The film’s success led to a sequel, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, which further solidified their pairing as one of Bollywood’s favorites.
