Kajol recently gave a refreshingly honest take on Bollywood’s dancing talents during a conversation with Mirchi Plus. In a segment where she was asked to rate popular actors on their dance abilities on a scale of 1 to 10, Kajol didn’t hold back—and her witty reasoning caught many off guard.
Speaking about her frequent co-star Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol said, “I think Shah Rukh is a good 7-8. I am also a 7-8, and we both try really hard so that we come to 7-8 eventually. Bahut josh ke sath hum 7-8 pe pohach jaate hai.” Her self-aware comment struck a chord, especially with fans who admire the on-screen chemistry more than perfect choreography between the two.
But the unexpected moment came when she rated her husband, Ajay Devgn, higher than Shah Rukh. Despite his reputation for being low-energy when it comes to dance numbers, Kajol confidently declared, “I would say Ajay Devgn is a 9.” She then explained why—“He is the smartest actor. He makes sure, if there's a song, its beat should match his walk, so that it looks like he is dancing but in reality he is just walking.”
Her comment, part joke and part compliment, highlighted Devgn’s often-overlooked ability to adapt to screen demands without stepping out of his comfort zone. Kajol’s ranking sparked light-hearted discussion online, especially among fans of both actors.
Unsurprisingly, she reserved the perfect 10 for Hrithik Roshan, saying, “Hrithik Roshan is definitely a 10. He has proved himself over the years.” Known for his precise and powerful dance moves, Hrithik continues to be a benchmark when it comes to Bollywood choreography.
On the work front, Kajol is currently appearing in Maa, a mythological horror drama directed by Vishal Furia. The film has received mixed reviews. Up next, she will be seen in Sarzameen, produced by Karan Johar, alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is set to stream on JioCinema from 25 July.
She’s also part of Maharagni – Queen of Queens, an action-thriller directed by Charan Tej Uppalapati, which features an ensemble cast including Naseeruddin Shah, Prabhu Deva, and Jisshu Sengupta.
