Jolly LLB 3: Akshay Kumar Delays Release on Karan Johar’s Request? Find Out the Real Reason

Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited courtroom comedy, Jolly LLB 3, was initially set to hit theatres on April 10, 2025. However, it has now been learned that the film’s release has been postponed to a later date. Reports suggest that this decision was made at the request of filmmaker Karan Johar, who has his own major release planned around the same time.

According to Bollywood Hungama, Jolly LLB 3 will now arrive in August 2025 instead of its original April release. A source close to the development shared the inside scoop.

Karan Johar is planning to bring another franchise film, Kesari 2, on April 18, 2025. He requested Akshay if he could reschedule the date of Jolly LLB 3, and the Khiladi was more than gracious to do the same.

Kesar Chapter 2, featuring Akshay Kumar alongside Ananya Panday and R Madhavan, will be taking the slot initially reserved for another Dharma Productions film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. This romantic comedy, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor, will now be delayed to the second half of 2025. Meanwhile, Kesari Chapter 2 will focus on the life of C Sankaran Nair, offering another gripping historical drama.

Coming back to Jolly LLB 3, the film promises to be another engaging courtroom comedy. A source revealed, “Staying true to the franchise, it’s a situational comedy set against the backdrop of the Indian Judiciary System. It’s essentially a fight between the two Jollys – Akshay Kumar & Arshad Warsi – with Saurabh Shukla as the judge.”

The makers have reportedly selected a highly relevant legal case, which is said to be bigger and more complex than the previous two installments. Most of the film will be shot in Mumbai, with key portions filmed in real locations across Rajasthan.

Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 will feature a stellar cast, including Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, and Saurabh Shukla. Fans are eagerly waiting for this courtroom battle between the two Jollys, and with the film’s release now set for August, the excitement continues to build!
