Janhvi Couldn't Stop her Tears; Crying Inconsolably she Called Up South Actress Keerthy

Janhvi Kapoor made her impact-full debut with Karan Johar's Dhadak and soon after got a fan-base of her own. Soon after her debut film released, the young diva received a lot of offers and currently has been working on her interesting line-up of films.

While she has always had an inclination towards B-town, she shares a similar love for the South industry and has often expressed her desire to work down South just like her late mother and legendary actress Sridevi. And, owing to this, there have been rumors making rounds that state Janhvi has been taken on board for Vijay Deverakonda’s Fighter.

However, an official confirmation about the same is still pending. But, while we wait for the news to get confirmed, Janhvi has spilled some other beans about her special bond with South actress Keerthy Suresh.

In her recent interaction with film critic Rajeev Masand, the Dhadak actress narrated an incident involving Keerthy which left her in tears and made her call the actress instantly.

Recalling the incident, Janhvi said that after watching Keerthy’s performance in Mahanati, she couldn’t hold her tears and ended up calling Keerthy.

I'm a fan of Keerthy. I don't know how many times I've seen Mahanati. I think I called her up crying, I don't know what I did but it's a genuine love for her.


Not only Jaanu, Keerthy received received accolades for her performance in Mahanati from the critics and the audience equally. The film also starred Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Deverakonda.

On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor will be next seen in Karan Johar's multi-starrer Takht, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl and RoohiAfzana and Mr Lele. As for Fighter, there are rumours of Janhvi charging a whopping amount of Rs 3.5 crore for her role.

A source close to the film’s production told to Deccan Chronicle, 

Even actresses such as Alia Bhatt and Ananya Pandey were approached for the part, but things did not materialise. However, Karan Johar was instrumental in getting Janhvi Kapoor on board. The actress is still working her date diary, and in all probability, she might commence shooting in February.
