Sunny Deol saw a huge resurgence in his career after Gadar 2. No one had much hopes from the sequel of Anil Sharma’s 2001 film, but it exceeded all expectations. Gadar 2 made more than Rs 600 crores at the box office, proving that Sunny Deol’s stardom is still intact. The star has made his foray into the Telugu industry with Jaat. Gopichand Malineni is the director of the movie. As per box office estimates, Jaat should make around Rs 10 crores on day one. The producers said they’re expecting close to Rs 20 crores on day one with the spot bookings for the movie.
Jaat has made close to Rs 82 lakhs so far in advance bookings. The interest from the film from metro or tier one cities is limited but trade is keen to see single screen numbers. Sunny Deol’s fan base is mostly in the smaller towns and cities of India as we saw during Gadar 2. Fans had come to theatres in tractors to see the film. Gadar 2 had set the box office on fire on Independence Day 2023. Gopichand Malineni has a track record of making perfect masala movies for senior stars.
Sunny Deol’s movie has Randeep Hooda as the main villain. The macho star said that he had a rebirth of sorts after Gadar 2. He said that film offers began to pour in after a long time. Sunny Deol said the producers Mythri Movie Makers came to meet him at the airport to convince him. Sunny Deol said he loves the movie-making culture in the South. The actor is also a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. He has confirmed that he is playing Lord Hanuman. Moreover, he is also a part of Border 2 that also stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty.
