After its theatrical success earlier this year, Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda’s action-packed film Jaat is now heading to OTT. Directed by Gopichand Malineni in his Hindi directorial debut, the movie was released in cinemas on April 10, 2025. It received a strong box office response and now finds its way to a wider digital audience.
According to a report by Jagran English, Netflix has bagged the digital rights for the film. If sources are accurate, Jaat is likely to premiere on the platform on June 5, 2025. However, an official confirmation from Netflix or the producers is still awaited.
The film stars Sunny Deol as a lone outsider who challenges a brutal crime lord named Ranatunga, played by Randeep Hooda. Set in a tense coastal village where fear silences the locals, the story builds into a classic showdown between unchecked tyranny and a determined man standing up for justice.
The supporting cast includes Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, and Vineet Kumar Singh, among others. Music is composed by S. Thaman, while Rishi Punjabi handles cinematography and Naveen Nooli has edited the film.
In an industry where action dramas often flood the screens, Jaat managed to strike a chord with the audience through its high-octane sequences and straightforward narrative. It’s also worth noting that the film marks a cross-industry collaboration, as director Gopichand Malineni is known for his work in Telugu cinema and brings that sensibility to the Hindi audience.
Following the film’s box office success, Sunny Deol confirmed the development of Jaat 2. The actor shared a poster on Instagram, revealing his return as Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh. “Jaat is back on a new mission,” he wrote in the caption, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come.
As anticipation builds for Jaat’s digital premiere, viewers who missed its theatrical run can soon stream it from home. All eyes are now on Netflix to announce the final release date officially.
