The action-packed film Jaat, featuring Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, and Vineet Kumar Singh, has received positive response from audiences since its release. But amid its box office success, the film got involved in controversy when an FIR was filed against its lead actors and makers. The complaint accused the team of hurting religious sentiments of the Christian community through a particular scene in the film.
The FIR was filed under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at a police station in Jalandhar. The complainant alleged that the scene was intentionally added and the film was released during the holy time of Good Friday and Easter with the motive to provoke anger among people and create unrest in the country.
While speaking to NDTV, the complainant said, “The director, writer and producer deliberately released this film during the holy month of Good Friday and Easter so that the community gets angry and riots break out in the entire country and unrest is spread.” He also demanded a total ban on the movie.

In the official statement shared by the film’s team, they wrote, “There has been a backlash for a specific scene in the film. The scene has been removed from the film with immediate effect.”
The statement further read, “Our intention was not to hurt any religious sentiments. We deeply regret it and have taken a quick action of deleting the scene from the film. We sincerely apologize to everyone whose beliefs have been hurt.”
The makers clarified that the intention behind the scene was never to target any community. They took swift action by deleting it to maintain peace and respect viewers’ feelings. As the controversy settles, the team of Jaat now hopes that the film continues to entertain the audience without further issues or protests.
