The craze for the small-screen stars moving on to the big screen seems to be increasing in a geometric progression. Everyone wants to repeat history a la SRK. But Raj Singh Arora (better known as Ashutosh Mehra from Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki) seems to be the latest addition in the list. The actor, who was happy playing Parvati's son in one of the most popular soaps, wants to make it big in the tinsel town and has agreed to play the role of an assistant director in a film titled Mumbai Cutting.
Mumbai Cutting is a very interesting one from all
perspectives. It comprises of 11 short stories and is directed by 11
directors, including big names like Rituparno Ghosh, Sudhir Mishra,
Anurag Kashyap, Jahnu Barua, Shashanka Ghosh, Rahul Dholakia, Revathy
and Ruchi Narain. "The film evolves around struggling assistant
directors and I am playing one of them," says Raj. The film also
has newcomer Arjun Mathur, VJ Juhi and is produced by Niyati Shah of
White Cloud Productions and presented by SaharaOne Motion Pictures. "But this does not mean that I am leaving Kahaani... I am very happy doing that and will continue to play the role. Of late, I was offered a role in Choona Hain Asmaan but could not take it up due to date problems”, quips the actor. Raj who is dating actress Swati Taldar (who is playing the role of Purbi Bisht in the new season of Left Right Left) seems to have a lot on his plate to take care of!
