Kochi, Nov 27 (IANS) The songs of 'Rock n Roll' make it to the music charts, one of them topping this fortnight's list of most popular Malayalam songs.

The top five Malayalam songs for the fortnight are:

1. 'Chandamama'- Film: 'Rock n Roll'. Music: Vidyasagar. Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry. Singer: Anitha and Rija. This typical item song is used with dexterity here as a montage that becomes the turning point of the story.

2. 'Chocolate'- Film: 'Chocolate'. Music: Alex Paul. Lyrics: Sarath Varma. Singers: M. G. Sreekumar and Rimi Tomi. The film has changed Prithviraj's fortunes, and music has played a part in the transformation.

3. 'Valayamitha'- Film: 'Rock n Roll'. Music: Vidyasagar. Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry. Singer: Vijay Yesudas, Renjith, Pradeep Pallurathy and Geemon. This folksy ensemble song with rhythm of Dapankothu is a natural crowd-pleaser.

4. 'Munthirikallu'- Film: 'Black Cat'. Music: M. Jayachandran. Lyrics: Rajeev Alunkal. Singer: Afsal. This song hangs on to its place in this list.

5. 'Istamalle'- Film: 'Chocolate'. Music: Alex Paul. Lyrics: Sarath Varma. Singer: Shahabas Aman. This romantic number with a stamp of the composer-lyricist team is still popular.
