Star Plus' show 'Imlie' has been one of the most popular shows on Indian Television. The show featuring Megha Chakraborty and Karan Vohra in the lead roles has been a constant on the TRP charts. However, post the recent leap in the performance, the TRPs of the show have been dipping significantly. The past two weeks have disappointed 'Imlie' as the exhibit has significantly dropped the TRP charts.

India Forums got in touch with Megha Chakraborty, who essays the character of Imlie in the show to talk about the same. The actress spoke on the TRP drop, whether or not it affects her personally, and the show is recently coming under the scanner.

The TRP of the show has been dipping significantly. What, according to you, is going wrong?

See, it is not just our show which has gone down on the TRP charts, but it has been an overall scene. The rains and floods are crucial factors here. Trees are falling everywhere; TV collection has suffered because of the same. So, just like the other television shows, Imlie, too, has been affected. As of now, the TRP drop is significant because of the 'Rain' factor. Because otherwise, there cannot be a justification for the sudden drop, not that we are showing something so boring that the show will suffer. And on the other hand, had other shows not suffered, I would have believed we were doing something wrong.

Has the dipping TRPs affected you personally? If yes, how do you deal with it?

Well, I will not lie; it does affect me a little. But we still need to give our best performance. We cannot let our performance suffer thinking of the TRPs. When my co-actors come to me and talk about the same, I ask them not to talk about it because it is not in our hands. What is in our hands is to perform and give our best; we cannot go and meet the channel and the writers and ask them why they are writing the story a certain way. That is their job, and they know how to do it. Our work is to give our best and be positive because negative energy is powerful and dominates us. So this is how I explain myself and my co-actors too.

From what we know, Imlie and Faltu were in a very close race to go off air. However, Faltu was chosen above Imlie. Do you take it as another chance?

Definitely. Faltu and Imlie were in a close race, and then Faltu was chosen over Imlie to be pulled down. However, this, too, was equally disappointing. So yes, I see it as a second chance to improve and focus more on our performances and the TRPs. And this is not just for the actors but for the team behind the camera. We have to perform well so that we are not the next ones to be pulled down. Because we were both on the same page, it could have been us in Faltu's place. But luckily, we are not, so we need to buckle up, perform well, and improvise our storyline so that the love we are falling short of starts returning to us.
