Ileana D'Cruz gets candid on being 'dropped' from Raid 2; praises Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor and team

Quite a few people were surprised to see that Ileana D’Cruz was replaced in Raid 2 by Vaani Kapoor. She had played Malini in the first movie. Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz are liked as a pair by the audiences. In the past, they have worked in Baadshaho and Raid. When people saw Vaani Kapoor as the new heroine of Raid 2, they were kind of disappointed. Some people also called out Ajay Devgn and Raj Kumar Gupta saying that they replaced Ileana D’Cruz maybe because she was a new mother. As we know, she became a mother in August 2023 to Koa Phoenix Dolan.

In a chat session on Instagram, Ileana D’Cruz was asked why she was not a part of Raid 2. She said the makers had indeed come to her to reprise the role of Malini. However, her son Koa was very small and she could not fit into their schedule. Ileana D’Cruz said she too misses the movies but her priorities are very different as of now. She also said that Vaani Kapoor looked lovely in the promos and brought her own charm. Netizens said it was such a gracious reply on her part. They said it is rare to see actors lift each other up in such a sweet dignified manner.
