I share a great bond with Shehzada Dhami: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai's Sharon Varma

Sharon Varma made her acting debut with Rajan Shahi’s “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai”, and is seen in the role of Kiara Poddar. The young actress uses her free time on the sets to hone her skills by “observing” the other members of the cast. 

“I watch the senior actors doing their scenes when I am not shooting. It's my first show, and no matter how much you learn or how much experience you gain, you still know very little. So, when I'm not shooting, I love to watch the senior artists’ acting. I stand on the side and I observe the senior artists doing their scenes and try to improve myself. That's my favourite thing to do on set,” she said.

The young actress is happy with the feedback she has received so far for her character portrayal, and said, “It's amazing and surprising because even though it's my first show, the comments and the love that I'm getting has been extraordinary. So far, no one has given any hate or bad comments personally or on the character, only love is coming my way. Every time I go live and interact with our audience and fans, I get a lot of positive comments.“

“However, I think that I need to wait and see how they react to the coming sequences because there are many twists and interesting scenes coming up. Only time will tell how their reaction goes,” she added. 

Though Sharon, just like her character Kiara, is talkative in nature, she doesn’t relate to any other aspects of her on-screen avatar. 

“I am not able to relate to everything of Kiara, but she talks a lot, and is straightforward, just like I am in real life. But Kiara has become a part of me and, therefore, sometimes, I think I carry my character home because my family sometimes tells me that this is not Sharon, this is Kiara. I take it home, I take it everywhere,” she said.

Sharon confessed that she shares a great bond with actor Shehzada Dhami, who plays her elder brother Armaan in the show. She said, “I share a good bond with everyone. But Shehzada is like a brother to me. My bond with him both on-screen and off-screen is very good. Even with Ruhi (Pratiksha Honmukhe) it’s great. She is so lovely and caring. When we were on an outdoor shoot, I was not well, and she took great care of me.”
