Got emotional as it was unexpected: Ankit Gupta on Priyanka Choudhary being second runner up in 'Bigg Boss 16'

Bigg Boss 16 has finally come to an end. And the show has a winner! In a shocking turn of events, MC Stan won the Bigg Boss 16 trophy and prize money of about 31 lakh 80 thousand rupees. The final call was between MC Stan and Shiv Thakare while Priyanka Chahar Choudhary was looking quite promising to lift the trophy.

Like many of her fans, Priyanka’s close friend and ex-contestant Ankit Gupta was shell-shocked as Priyanka was announced as the second runner up of the show. To the extent that Gupta got emotional and shed a tear. Host Salman Khan appreciated Priyanka for the grace that she has and the way she embraced the decision.

Everybody knows that she deserved it. She was winning almost every poll and contest and thus the results took time to sink in.

Post the grand finale shoot, Ankit Gupta chatted exclusively with India Forums. When asked about getting emotional, Gupta said, “Well, It was quite unexpected for me and I couldn’t accept the fact that she’s coming out as a second runner-up and thus I got a little emotional. Everybody knows that she deserved it. She was winning almost every poll and contest and thus the results took time to sink in. However, looking at the grace that she came out with, I believe she is already a winner and I am super proud of her. She’s had an amazing journey. She was strong since day one and didn’t require anybody’s support. After my eviction, she did feel a little weak for a day or two but she bounced back and how! Reaching until the top 3 is in itself a very big deal”.
