Ram Charan and Kiara Advani's much-anticipated movie Game Changer has failed to make a significant impact at the box office. Despite the high-profile cast and the hype surrounding it, the political actioner continues to struggle, with a disappointing performance even after crossing the Rs 25 crore mark in Hindi.
On its sixth day, Game Changer added Rs 1.40 crore to its earnings, marking a new low in its box office journey. The film, directed by Shankar and produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, has not been able to build momentum due to poor word-of-mouth and weak promotional strategies. Although there was a slight growth on Sankranti, the film failed to sustain that momentum, experiencing a drop of 20% compared to its first Monday collection.
After six days, the total net collection of Game Changer stands at Rs 25.80 crore in Hindi. The movie is expected to end its opening week with a total of approximately Rs 26.50 crore. This underperformance is a major disappointment for the team, especially after the film’s massive pre-release expectations.
On a global scale, Game Changer has crossed the Rs 150 crore mark in worldwide collections. Interestingly, it has surpassed the lifetime earnings of Shankar's previous film, Indian 2, which was also a commercial failure. However, despite this achievement, Game Changer is expected to incur a loss of around Rs 200 crore, marking it as one of the biggest loss-making projects in Indian cinema.
The film’s storyline revolves around Ram Charan, who plays three roles: Ram Nandan IAS, Appanna (his father), and Charan IPS (his younger brother). The plot follows Ram Nandan's journey to expose the corrupt politicians who destroyed his father’s dream of a corruption-free nation. Kiara Advani plays the role of his wife, Deepika. This film marks the reunion of Ram Charan and Kiara after six years, having first worked together in Vinaya Vidheya Rama in 2019.
Game Changer continues to face an uphill battle at the box office, and it remains to be seen whether it can recover from its early struggles.
