FIR filed against Rishi Kapoor

An FIR (First Investigation Report) against veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor has been lodged.

Reportedly, the veteran has been booked for chopping off a tree more than the permitted limit along with cutting off its branches.

Another FIR has also been lodged against the contractor that he hired for doing the work. Under Section 8, read with Section 21 of the Maharashtra Protection and Preservation of Tree Act, the contracted has been booked.

Talking to TOI, Rishi said, "I had taken all required permission to do so, which I have provided them to see. This is plain harassment from jealous neighbours which was expected."

Police have started their investigation and are recording the statements of everyone involved in the case. After which they will take action against the actor.

Previously, the BMC had given a show cause notice to Rishi Kapoor for cutting the tree after taking permission to trim it. Tree-cutting was illegal and Kapoor was only given the permission to trim it. However, he didn't abide by the laws.

Since, the BMC officials were not convinced with his explanation, they decided to take the help of Police and asked them to file an FIR against the actor.
