Filmmaker Rakshit Shetty sheds light on his bond with ex-fiancee Rashmika Mandanna

Kannada filmmaker Rakshit Shetty, who is currently riding high on the success of his latest Kannada film 'Sapta Sagardaache Ello: Side A,' recently shared insights about his current equation with actor and former fiancée Rashmika Mandanna. Rakshit and Rashmika were once engaged in 2017 but called off their wedding plans a year later.

In a recent interview with IndiaGlitz Telugu, when asked about his present relationship with Rashmika Mandanna, Rakshit Shetty revealed, "Me and Rashmika, we message each other once in a while. Not like in constant touch, but whenever my film is releasing, she messages and wishes me the best. And, whenever her film releases, I wish her. On birthdays, we exchange wishes."

Rashmika and Rakshit's love story began when they worked together on their debut film 'Kirik Party' in 2016, and their engagement was announced in July 2017. However, the couple mutually decided to call off their engagement in September 2018, citing compatibility issues. Since then, Rashmika has been linked to her co-star from 'Geetha Govindam' (2018) and 'Dear Comrade' (2019), Vijay Deverakonda, although both actors have consistently denied such reports.

Rashmika Mandanna has been expanding her horizons and has appeared in several Bollywood projects in recent years. Her next venture is the highly anticipated action thriller 'Animal,' directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor.

A few days ago, Rashmika delighted her fans by sharing the poster of her first look from 'Animal.' In the poster, she exudes charm and elegance, dressed in a maroon check saree and matching blouse, while flashing a heartwarming smile. She captioned the post, "Your Geetanjali (red heart emoji)."

'Animal' is slated to hit theaters on December 1 and will be released in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
