Of all embarassing fashion disasters that could possibly be, one has
to be the repetition of an outfit worn by another celebrity. Regardless
of the meticulous planning to ensure that the outfit is unique, such
blunders are unavoidable. However, this time around we have quite the
news. We have often seen, perhaps a tad too many times, Bollywood actors
repeating outfits worn by stars from the other side of the globe. This
time, the tables have turned. In this edition of Fashion Face Off, we're here to examine a pretty Dior gown worn by two beauties, Deepika Padukone and Lily James.
The gorgeous Deepika Padukone donned the beautiful, nude, strapless, silk Christian Dior dress for the Stardust Awards
held in December 2014. She kept the look simple with minimalistic
touches and paired it with a set of citron earrings from Anmol and a
simple ring from Gehna. Choosing a softer, more feminine look, she
dropped her usual red lips and opted for smoky eyes and a nude lip
colour. Completing the look, she styled her hair back while letting her
locks flow free. All in all, a refreshing change; she looked every bit
of ethereal.
Months later, British actor Lily James walked the red carpet of the Cinderella premiere at the 65th
Berlinale International Film Festival in February 2015 held in Berlin.
Wearing the exact same Dior gown, James had her very own Cinderella
moment. The beauty of the look was its simplicity; minimal make-up
and hair parted at the centre. The De Beers jewels added a graceful
touch. The colour of the dress though was a bit of a dampener and looked
somewhat pale on her. The exclusively designed crystal- embedded Jimmy
Choo "Cinderella" shoes however, added greatly to the fairy tale look.
Both the ladies chose to go the same minimalistic route and both
looked stunning. However, Padukone seems to have an edge over Lily. The
colour blended well with her toned body and the right styling and
make-up made her look refreshingly gorgeous on the red carpet. James,
on the other hand, paled a little in comparison.
