After Kasamh Se, Balaji Telefilms is back with their next venture on Zee TV, titled 'Pavitra Rishtha'. The show is a remake of a very popular Tamil serial, Thirumathi Selvam, of which Ekta Kapoor has acquired copyrights.

"The protagonist is a well-cultured, less-educated girl Archana who is past her marriageable age. Savitha Prabhune and Ajay Rohia essay the role of her parents. While the mother prays that her daughter gets a well-educated boy in her life, her father is more of the practical type. Archana has a brother, bhabhi and two younger sisters, of which one is working and the other is in college", explains our source.
The show will revolve around the essence of the city of Mumbai, and will have more of chawls and old buildings shown in the story line.
"Pavitra Rishtha is the tale of Archana who does not get a suitable offer just because she is not educated. The manner in which she settles down in life with her partner is interesting to watch", adds our source.
And the actress who has bagged the meaty role of the female protagonist is Ankita Lokhande, who was first seen in Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj. The actress was also finalized to play the main lead in NDTV Imagine's school-based love story Baali Umar Ko Salaam, before the project was scrapped.
"The show will also have Swati Anand who was earlier seen in Kasamh Se. She will essay the role of Archana's Bhabhi and her character will be grey", states our khabroo.
The promos of the show are already on air. Pavitra Rishtha will be a daily from Monday to Friday, and will launch on May 25th in a prime time slot, though the timing has not been finalized yet.
Let's see how successful this remake turns to be for Ekta Kapoor and Zee TV!!
