Ekta Kapoor comes out in support of Pearl V Puri, says 'girl's mother openly said Pearl was not involved'

The reports about Pearl V Puri being arrested by the Mumbai Police on alleged rape charges came across as a shock to everyone. The actor was arrested on June 4 ,2021 after a complaint was filed against him alleging rape. Reports further have it that the complaint against Pearl is by a minor girl.

Soon after, many have come out in support of the actor stating how he could never do a thing like this. The likes of Anita Hassanandani, Karishma Tanna, and a few others have taken to social media to support him.

Also extending support and issuing a clarification, the producer Ekta Kapoor also took to social media about the same. She wrote, ''Using an extremely important movement like ‘Me Too’ frivolously, to get your own agendas met with and mentally torturing a child and making an innocent person guilty. I have no right to decide, the courts will decide who is right & wrong. My opinion only comes from what the girl’s mother said to me last night & that is - Pearl is innocent …and it is very very sad if people are using various tactics to prove working mothers are unable to take care of their children, because there are predators on the set.''
