Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2 Review: Baba Nirala’s Reign Continues, But the Magic Fades

Baba Nirala’s dark empire expands, but the slow pacing and predictable twists make this season less impactful than the previous ones.

Aashram

Fans of Ek Badnaam Aashram have been eagerly waiting for the next chapter in Baba Nirala’s journey, and Season 3 Part 2 has finally arrived. The latest installment continues to uncover the dark secrets of his empire, as new enemies rise and loyalties shift. This time, Baba Nirala faces a rebellion from within, with his most trusted allies beginning to question him. Meanwhile, his thirst for political dominance grows stronger. The season delves into his psychological battles, showing how his past manipulations are now coming back to haunt him. But does the show retain the same intensity as before?

Story & Screenplay

The intrigue is still there, but the storytelling lacks the gripping tension of the earlier seasons. While the first half of this part builds up suspense, the latter half feels repetitive, with some predictable twists. The political and power struggles remain the show’s strongest elements, but certain subplots drag unnecessarily. The screenplay does a decent job of balancing multiple story arcs, yet it doesn’t bring the edge-of-the-seat moments that fans expect from Aashram. Some scenes feel stretched, making the pacing slower than needed.

Direction & Presentation

Prakash Jha’s direction stays true to the gritty and dark world of Aashram, but it doesn’t bring anything new to the table. The show’s visual aesthetics and background score work well in maintaining the eerie atmosphere, yet the overall execution feels like a rehash of previous seasons. Some moments are impactful, but others feel overly dramatic, which takes away from the realistic tension. A sharper narrative could have made the series more engaging.

Performances

Bobby Deol as Baba Nirala remains the highlight. He effortlessly plays the self-styled godman with a mix of charm and menace. Chandan Roy Sanyal once again delivers a power-packed performance, keeping his character intriguing. Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumar, and Tridha Choudhury play their roles well, but their character arcs could have been stronger. While the performances are solid, they aren’t enough to compensate for the weaker storytelling this time.

Final Verdict

Ek Badnaam Aashram 3 Part 2 has its moments, but it doesn’t match the intensity of earlier seasons. While the performances and political twists keep the show afloat, the slow pacing and predictable turns make it less compelling than before. Fans of the series will still find it worth watching, but it might not leave the same impact as previous seasons.
