Drishyam 2: Ajay Devgn talks on the 'remake trend' in Bollywood

The most awaited film of the year Drishyam 2 is all set to take you on a suspense ride. The makers of the film released the trailer today and it is mind-blowing in all ways possible. The team launched the trailer in Goa this afternoon and the fans of the franchise would be waiting for the thrill to unfold.

The trailer says that truth cannot be buried and one sees Akshaye Khanna taking the case in his hands this time around. He leaves no stone unturned along with Tabu, to get the truth of Vijay's mouth.

However, with the sequel, the makers have promised to twist the tale. According to a report by Etimes speaking about the remake trend in context to ‘Drishyam 2’, Ajay shared, “The film has been treated in a different manner. There are a lot of changes, you won't see Akshaye's character in the original. You will feel, this is a fresh film.” 

Director Abhishek Pathak also assured, "We took 7 months to rewrite the film. We have made a lot of changes and retained the essence." Apart from Ajay, ‘Drishyam 2’ will feature , Tabu, Akshaye Khanna and Shriya Saran in lead roles. 

'Drishyam' is the Hindi remake of the Malayalam franchise which stars Mohanlal. While the original has turned out to be quite a cult, even the first part of the Hindi version got immense love. One hopes the sequel lives up to it. 'Drishyam 2' is set to release on November 18.
