Dipika Kakar opens up on return with 'Sasural Simar Ka 2'

It seems to be the season of comebacks to old shows where we have already seen Pooja Gor coming back with Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya 2 and Rubina Dilaik coming back as Soumya in Shakti... Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii.

Now we also know that actor Dipika Kakar will be returning with a character she has been synonymous with - Simar. The actor will be reprising her character as Simar in Sasural Simar Ka 2.

Talking about it on length with ETimes TV, Kakar said,  “I have always maintained that Simar is a part of me and will always be alive in me. I may have played the character for six years, but I continue to live it till date. People in my sasural still address me as Simar. Initially, they connected with me because of the show. Also, as an artiste, I have never thought that I won’t go back to a show or down the same path. I was in a mood to take a break and had turned down a couple of shows in the last six months. But then I got a call for Sasural... That show has made me what I am today.” 

We remember how the original season ran long but was mocked and ridiculed for several tracks including makkhi and aping Game of Thrones. On this, Kakar said, “I wasn’t affected. You can praise us or diss us, but you can’t ignore us. So, that’s a win. At the end of the day, what matters are the ratings. Aur agar woh aa rahi hai toh matlab hai ki log show dekh rahe hain. Why do people not make fun of such tracks in a horror film? But you will talk about it when you watch it on a daily soap. Entertainment factor toh dono mein hain.”

We are sure the fans of the actor would love to see him back in Sasural Simar Ka 2.
