In the world of showbiz, speculations often fly faster than confirmations. The latest film to fall under the rumour radar is Vvan, a much-anticipated project starring Sidharth Malhotra. Earlier today, a report by PeepingMoon sparked buzz claiming that director Deepak Kumar Mishra had been removed from the project due to creative clashes with the lead actor. But Mishra has now come forward to put those rumours to rest.
Speaking exclusively to Mumbai Mirror, the acclaimed filmmaker dismissed the claims, saying, “I don’t have any such information. Nothing has happened. This is out of the blue. I just want to state that nothing has happened. Sidharth and I are very strong. We are jamming so well and working hard on the film. It is 100% false.”
The PeepingMoon report had earlier alleged that Deepak and Sidharth struggled to agree on the creative direction of Vvan, leading to rising tensions during pre-production. It claimed that their disagreements ultimately resulted in the production house bringing in a new director. However, with Mishra's firm denial, those whispers seem to have hit a dead end, at least for now.
Deepak Kumar Mishra is no stranger to quality storytelling. A key creative figure at The Viral Fever (TVF) since its inception, he has directed several acclaimed digital hits such as Permanent Roommates, Barely Speaking with Arnub, the hugely popular and award-winning series Panchayat and more. His storytelling style, rooted in simplicity and emotional depth, has earned him a loyal fanbase.
Vvan, a joint production between TVF and Balaji Motion Pictures, was initially scheduled to go on floors earlier this year. But delays followed, first due to Sidharth’s packed schedule and then Sara Ali Khan’s exit from the project. Tamannaah Bhatia was later roped in as the female lead. The release date has also seen a shuffle and is now locked for March 15, 2026, moving from its earlier Chhath Puja 2025 window. On the work front, Sidharth Malhotra is gearing up for the release of Param Sundari alongside Janhvi Kapoor.
