Bollywood's latest romantic offering, 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,' has been making waves since its release on July 28. Directed by Karan Johar, the film has garnered positive reviews from the audience, especially for the enchanting chemistry between lead stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. However, what truly surprised the viewers was a kissing sequence between veteran actors Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi, which has been the talk of the town.

In a recent interview with News18, the evergreen actor, Dharmendra, shared his thoughts on the impactful kissing scene with Shabana Azmi in the movie. The scene unfolds when their characters reunite after years of separation, and Dharmendra serenades Shabana with the iconic retro song "Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar," sealing their emotional reunion with a passionate kiss.

Addressing the audience's reaction to the unexpected scene, the 87-year-old actor expressed, "I am hearing that Shabana and I have surprised the audience with the kissing scene, and at the same time, they have even applauded it. I think people weren’t expecting it, and it came very suddenly, which is why it created an impact." He went on to share his previous experience with a similar scene in the movie "Life In A Metro" with Nafisa Ali, which had also been well-received by the audience.

When Karan Johar narrated the scene to him and Shabana, Dharmendra mentioned that he didn't feel hesitant or uncomfortable. He saw it as something the film genuinely required and not a forced inclusion. The veteran actor emphasized that age should never limit romance, stating that love can be expressed through a kiss, regardless of age. The scene was aesthetically shot, and both Dharmendra and Shabana approached it with grace and professionalism.

Speaking of the film itself, Dharmendra showered praise on the talented cast, commending Ranveer Singh's terrific performance, Alia Bhatt's natural acting, and Shabana Azmi's brilliance in the film. He also expressed fondness for his co-star Jaya Bachchan, affectionately referring to her as his "Guddi." Encouraging the audience to support the film, Dharmendra urged them to watch it in theaters and continue showering their love.

Apart from 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,' Dharmendra is gearing up for an exciting collaboration with director Shriram Raghvan in the biopic 'Ekkis.' The film revolves around the life of a martyred soldier and features Agastya Nanda, the grandson of the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, in a pivotal role.
