Confirmed: Farhan Akhtar splits with wife Adhuna Akhtar

Here comes another shocker for all the Bollywood fans!

Rumours about Farhan Akhtar parting ways with his wife Adhuna Akhtar have been making the rounds for quite some time now.

Unfortunately, their split has been confimed now and the couple has decided to call it quits after 16 long years or marriage.

If reports are to be believed, the couple hasn't specified their reasons for the separation, except that they grew apart over the spanning years.

Farhan and Adhuna’s love story has been an ideal one for all lovers. Even though Adhuna is six years older to Farhan, age was never an issue between the two!

Their bond dates back to the sets of 'Dil Chahta Hai' where the couple first met. While Farhan was making his debut as a director, it was also Adhuna’s first as a Bollywood hair stylist. After that, they dated for three years before tying the knot in 2000.

The couple issued an official statement on Wednesday which read, "This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they be protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner."

With this another beautiful love story of B-town comes to end!

dil chahta hai was relased in 2001 wen how can it b possible tht they hv dated for 3yrs before geting marreid in 2000 ? as IF alrdy mentioned tht they first met on d set only..baap 1 numree beta 10 nemberee

First hrithik and now farhan. wonder whats going in the life of these two zindagi naa milegi dobara actors. Did they took the title seriously.

Liked these two together so it is bit of shocking news, I feel bad for the kids but if these two have no love left between them then why stay in such a marriage? it is better to separate.
