'CID' actor Dinesh Phadnis aka Freddy passes away

Dinesh Phadnis, beloved by the audience for his role as Freddy, has reportedly passed away at the age of 57 due to multiple organ failure. While initial reports referred to a heart attack as the cause of Dinesh's ventilation, it appears to be untrue.

It is also reported that the actor took his last breath around 12:08 am, and his last rites will be held at the Daulat Nagar crematorium today.

Earlier, speaking to Indian Express, Dayanand Shetty, who played Senior Inspector Daya in CID, stated, "Dinesh Phadnis is hospitalized and on a ventilator; doctors are observing him. He has not suffered a heart attack; it is a different treatment, and I wouldn't like to comment on it."

Besides his acting, Dinesh also contributed to writing many episodes of his popular show - CID, where he worked from 1998 to 2018. In addition to CID, he appeared in Dangal TV's CIF. He made guest appearances on Adaalat and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
