BTS: Jungkook makes donation of one billion Korean won to assist in management of wildfire crisis

The wildfires in South Korea have taken close to 30 lives so far. The dry weather and strong winds have led to the spread of the blaze that has destroyed small villages in Southeastern South Korea. Over 43,000 hectares of land have come under the fires causing immense damage to property and wildlife. A centuries old Buddhist Temple has also been razed to the ground. Top Korean celebs have come to the aid of firefighters and the community by making huge donations. HYBE Group Seventeen donated one billion Korean won for the rehabilitation work. From BTS, SUGA (Min Yoongi), Namjoon and J-Hope made donations of 100 million Korean won for the people. Jungkook’s donation is close to Rs six crores in Indian rupees.

Now, Jungkook has made a donation of one billion Korean won for the cause. This is not the first time he has made such a big donation. He had given a similar amount for a children’s hospital in the past. In his statement issued through Big Hit Music, he stated, “I hope this will be of some help to everyone who is having a hard time. I hope that those who are suffering from this wildfire and those who are working hard to put it out can quickly return to their peaceful daily lives.”

A number of celebs have donated for this wildfire rescue mission. Gong Yoo and his Goblin co-star Kim Go-Eun have also donated 100 million won for this cause. When Life Gives You Tangerines actress and singer IU, Shin Min Ah of Hometown Cha Cha Cha fame, Business Proposal actress Kim Se Jeong are other names that came forward in this matter.
