Ayushmann Khurrana hails 'Dream Girl 2' as it shines amidst 'Jawan' and 'Gadar 2'

Ayushmann Khurrana, is brimming with joy following the triumph of his latest movie, 'Dream Girl 2'. The film's opening day witnessed a remarkable collection of Rs 10.05 crore and has continued to be strong since then.

Recently, Ayushman opened up on the timing of his films release. In a conversation with ANI, Ayushmann conveyed his happiness, stating that over the past three months, films with moderate and modest budgets have been experiencing remarkable success. Gone are the days when only high-budget productions dominated the box office. 

He further said, "The timing of our movie couldn't have been better, positioned between 'Jawan' and 'Gadar 2'. Despite this, 'Dream Girl 2' managed to carve out its own niche, marking a significant victory."

Reflecting on his portrayal of the character Pooja on-screen, Ayushmann shared that when the narrative is compelling and impactful, actors are willing to embrace even the most challenging roles. 

He then said, "Think about it, actors like Kamal Haasan, Govinda, and Aamir Khan have previously donned female avatars. However, in this instance, I felt as though I was competing with the likes of Madhuri, Sridevi, and Hema Malini. I believed that paying heed to male actors would only limit my ability to do justice to the character."

For the unversed, the sequel features an ensemble cast including Ayushmann Khurrana, Ananya Panday, Manjot Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Manoj Joshi, Seema Pahwa, and Vijay Raaz. The film is helmed by director Raaj Shaandilyaa, with production credits going to Ektaa R Kapoor.
