Karan Johar's The Traitors, the Indian adaptation of the popular reality series, premiered on Prime Video on June 12. The show is already filled with drama, and viewers are hooked. After just three episodes, the one thing that everyone is curious to know about is the show is a reality or a carefully crafted script? Apoorva Mukhija who is a part of the show responded about the same.
Apoorva said, “Everybody has been constantly asking me if the show is scripted. Absolutely not. Like if they gave me a script jaha Uorfi Javed mujhe bol rahi hai mai uske level pe nahi hu, I would quit this show. I would not do this show. I would be like, ‘Soch bhi kaise sakte ho aap ye, script likh bhi kaise sakte ho aap aise’ (Like if they gave me a script where Uorfi Javed is telling me that I am not at her level, I would quit this show. I would not do this show. I would be like, ‘How can you even think like this? How can you even write a script like this)?"
Recalling an argument with Raftaar on the show, she said, “We have shot for 18-20 hours every single day, and then they take cuts out of it. Jaise mujhe yaad hi nahi tha ki maine Raftaar Paaji ke baare me kabhi kuch ulta bola hai kyuki me and Raftaar were really close (Like I don’t remember that I ever said anything negative about Raftaar Paaji because I and Raftaar were really close)."
“So the clips that they pick out sort of form a lot of what happens on the show, but it’s not scripted… at all, I would tell. I would be the first person to be yapping here. If you don’t believe my yapping, you watch traitors, and you will understand that I cannot stop for the life of me," she concluded.
The Traitors premiered with its first three episodes, with new ones dropping every Thursday at 8 PM. Filmed at Rajasthan's Suryagarh hotel, the show features 20 entertainment personalities vying for a Rs 1 crore prize. The cast includes Anshula Kapoor, Elnaaz Norouzi, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Raftaar, among others.
In The Traitors, host Karan Johar has secretly selected three traitors from a group of 20 players. These traitors must sabotage and eliminate the "innocents" while concealing their identities. Each episode culminates in a tense round table vote, where the players decide who to evict based on their suspicions. The innocents win the prize money if they correctly identify all the traitors, but if even one traitor survives, they take home the entire prize. So far, Karan Kundrra, Sahil Salathia, Lakshmi Manchu, and Raj Kundra (a traitor) have been eliminated.
