Actor Rahul Bose, who will be seen in the role of Zulfikar, a Pakistani General in Deepa Mehta's adaptation of Salman Rushdie's novel "Midnight's Children", says when a book is adapted into a film, it is definitely a happy moment for the author.

"If someone comes to you (writer) with a wish to adapt your novel or book, it feels good as you will get to see your book or the novel in another art form. These are very interesting things. I don't think a writer lives for those moments. But when it happens, it feels good," the 45-year-old said here in an interview.

The novel, "Midnight's Children", won the Booker Prize.

Its screen adaptation, releasing Friday, features an ensemble cast of Satya Bhabha, Shriya Saran, Siddharth, Anupam Kher, Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Shahana Goswami, Soha Ali Khan and Darsheel Safary.
