Anoop Desai makes it to the top 13 of American Idol!

After 8 years of choosing the top 12 finalists in American Idol, this season the show decided to take in 13 finalists instead. Apparently the judges could not choose between two miraculous contestants, Anoop Desai and Matt Girbaud. Therefore Idol judge, Simon Cowell incorporated a last minute decision in which both Anoop and Matt advanced to the finals.


Anoop sang the song, 'My Prerogative' by Bobby Brown and received a fair amount of praise from the judges. Randy Jackson said Anoop had 'slayed it' meanwhile Simon Cowell called him the 'enthusiastic dog'. Although Cowell stated that it wasn't his best vocal piece, the crowd still adored Anoop's startling performance.


The battle between Anoop and Matt was crucial; it was either one or the other. However when Cowell announced that this season there will be 13 finalists, the expression on Anoop's face was priceless.
