Anil Kapoor will be seen on screen this week in Thar, a Netflix film starring his son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. The father-son duo will appear on screen for the second time afte AK vs AK. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Satish Kaushik also star in the Indo-Western thriller.
In the film, Anil will play a cop, while Harsh Vardhan Kapoor will pull Siddharth, an antique dealer who journeys through a rural village that has recently been rattled by a string of violent killings. Anil, who plays local officer Surekha Singh, meets Siddharth while investigating these murders.
Anil discussed the film, which is set to be released on May 6, following his recent "movie date" with Anupam Kher. He stated,
"It's a different kind of movie. The trailer has received good response." Anupam then said, "Harsh ki film hai (It's Harsh's film)," and Anil reiterated the same statement. He said, "Harsh ki film hai. Hum to aise hi supporting actor hain (It's Harsh's film. We're just supporting actors)."
Anil also advertised the film in advance of his "movie date" with Anupam. Anil responded with his hands folded after Anupam bragged about his latest release The Kashmir Files' revenues being in the 300 crore club "Sir, if I can at least surpass 30 crores in my other films, I will be very happy. Please bless me, sir." In December 2020, Netflix will release the black comedy thriller film. Thar, directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary and produced by Anil and Harsh, will also have a straightforward Netflix release.
