The makers of Metro In Dino have unveiled the much-anticipated first look of the film, along with a teaser of the upcoming song Zamaana Lage. The video, shared on T-Series’ official YouTube channel, opens with the line, “The city has changed, and so have the stories.” It sets the tone for a film that appears to dive deep into the evolving emotional dynamics of people living in metropolitan India.
Directed by Anurag Basu, Metro In Dino brings together a large ensemble cast. It features Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neena Gupta, and Saswata Chatterjee. The characters seem to represent a cross-section of urban individuals navigating personal dilemmas, relationships, and shifting identities.
In the video, Aditya and Sara stand together at a train station, but there’s a sense of emotional distance between them. While Aditya’s character seeks escape in the calm of the mountains, Sara's character finds herself immersed in the busy rhythms of city life. Ali Fazal plays a singer, and his track in the film hints at a developing romantic equation with Fatima Sana Shaikh's character.
Moments in the teaser highlight how the characters wrestle with their emotions. Aditya is seen reacting with frustration, Sara is caught in an emotional outburst, and Ali Fazal silently breaks down. These glimpses suggest that the film will explore heartbreak, longing, and personal growth in a sensitive and nuanced manner. Pankaj Tripathi’s character appears captivated by Konkona’s presence, hinting at a quieter narrative arc.
The teaser for Zamaana Lage, set to release on May 28, brings back the collaboration of composer Pritam with Anurag Basu. The song is sung by Arijit Singh and Shashwat Singh.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu, Metro In Dino is set for a theatrical release on July 4. Rather than glamorising urban life, the film appears to offer an introspective look into relationships shaped by a fast-paced, ever-changing cityscape.
