Ananya Panday to join Akshay Kumar for Karan Johar's C. Sankaran Nair biopic?

Ever since the formal announcement about developing a movie on C. Sankaran Nair was made by Karan Johar, fans have been anticipating for the creators to unveil the celebrity cast. Although no official word has been issued, a number of names have been floating about.

This film will be directed by Karan Tyagi and will be inspired by the unwritten and legendary narrative of lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, who was a key figure during the British administration of India. According to multiple reports, Akshay Kumar will portray the title character. According to the most recent reports, Ananya Panday will portray the female lead in the flick.

Karan Johar, who is now promoting JugJugg Jeeyo, has reportedly established the ground work for his next biopic C Sankaran, as per reports in Mid Day. The Untold Story of C Sankaran Nair, directed by newcomer Karan Singh Tyagi, will be a courtroom drama. Akshay Kumar could play the late lawyer activist, and if speculations are to be believed, Ananya Panday would also play a significant role in the film. According to reports, the film will be modeled on Raghu and Pushpa Palat's book The Case That Shook the Empire, and would follow a lawyer's fight against the British Raj to reveal Punjab Lieutenant Governor Michael O'Dwyer's complicity in the carnage.

Meanwhile making the official announcement regarding the project, Karan wrote, "Extremely excited and honoured to be bringing the untold story of C. Sankaran Nair, a historic man to the big screens. Directed by @karanstyagi. More details to follow soon, stay tuned!"  

However, Ananya Panday has not yet, signed the dotted line. According to reports, the film would begin shooting after Akshay Kumar completes a portion of the Soorarai Pottru adaptation.
