Amitabh Bachchan, the true "Shahenshah" of Indian cinema, recently took to social media to share an emotional message for his fans, who have been religiously gathering outside his residence every Sunday for the last 43 years. Come rain, shine, or chaos, fans wait outside Jalsa just to catch a glimpse of the superstar, and Big B has never taken that love for granted.
On Instagram, the actor posted a picture of a man bowing down, symbolizing humility and reverence. Alongside the image, he wrote a heartfelt note expressing his gratitude. “At Prateeksha since 1982… and from 1992-93 at Jalsa… people have been coming every Sunday to meet me and my family. For the last 43 years, there has been no greater example of love than this,” he shared. “I bow down in humility.”
This weekly tradition has now become an iconic ritual in Bollywood history, fans from across the country and even overseas gather for a fleeting moment with the megastar. Some bring posters, some wear shirts with his face, others simply fold their hands in quiet admiration.

From light-hearted comebacks to philosophical takes, the veteran actor continues to engage his audience with grace and sass. One fan asked if he's ever tired of tweeting so much, to which he cheekily responded, “Tired? Never. Words are my breath!”
In another X post that has caught attention, Bachchan hinted at his interest in returning for a sequel to the science-fiction mythological epic Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. As the film completed one year since its release, Big B wrote, “My honoured privilege to be asked to be a part of it… ever to be a part of it again, IF THEY WERE TO EVER TO ASK.”
Kalki 2898 AD, starring an ensemble cast including Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone, took audiences on a futuristic journey rooted in ancient mythology. Bachchan’s character played a key role in the narrative, and fans would love to see him return in the next chapter. At 81, Amitabh Bachchan proves age is just a number.
