Akshay's Tube Trysts

Akshay Kumar is a punctual man. He simply does not like to keep people waiting if he can help it, and if this means taking public transport, then so be it!

Akshay was faced with such a scenario in London, recently, where he is shooting for Nikhil Advani's Patiala House. The actor had to travel to Oxham in Central London, but along the way there was quite a bad traffic jam. So he asked the driver to stop at the nearest station for the London tube, also known as the Underground, figuring that it would be a much quicker way to reach his destination.

Despite his attempts at traveling incognito (which involved sitting in a corner, hiding his face with a cap), the actor was recognized, and subsequently stalked by a group of enthusiastic fans. Akki tried to lose them by hiding in the underground tunnels and getting on and off trains, but the fans would not relent!

Luckily, Akshay was not annoyed by the stalking incident. In fact, he enjoyed taking public transport again, something he has not done in a while. Back in 2009, the actor bought mountain bikes and would cycle back from his set to his hotel, despite star-struck fans who snapped photos of him, showing just how comfortable he is with getting around town not just in a fancy car, but on trains and bikes!
